From 21 – 23rd of April 2015 Heraklion, Crete, will host the international conference on Genes, Ecosystems and Risk of Infection (GERI 2015: http://geri2015.edenext.eu/). Organised by the two EU-funded projects EDEN and EDENext (http://www.edenext.eu/) different aspects of the meaning of vector-borne infections (vectors such as mosquitoes, ticks or rodents) will be illuminated in more than 40 oral and more than 100 poster presentations. A key note speech is given by Dr. Kerstin Dressel on Public Health perspectives on vector-borne infections in Europe. Next to others she will report about the sine-conducted comparative study of 5 European countries on the risk perception of vector-borne infections.
