Today, the special issue on ‘Risk Culture and Crisis Communication’ was published by the International Journal of Risk Assessement and Management (IJRAM), guest editorial by Dr. Kerstin Dressel, Managing Director of the sine-Institut. The special issue emerged in the context of the EU-funded Opti-Alert project (www.opti-alert.eu), but include several external contributions, too. Included are next to a theoretical introduction to the topic by guest editor Kerstin Dressel also Alessio Cornia, who reports about the specific Italian risk culture, Sweta Chakraborty about the conceptual differences of risk and crisis communication, Alice Mueller-Leonhardt, Pernille Stroebaek and Joachim Vogt elaborate in a case study on air navigation services providers the concept and the prevention of critical incidence stress reactions. Harald Drager, president of the International Emergency Management Society (TIEMS) and member of the Opti-Alert advisory board, has also contributed with an opening note.
