This workshop offers a theoretical introduction and practical exercises in this efficient qualitative method of focus group research. In addition to questions about the content structure and procedure of a focus group, the framework conditions for the successful implementation of such a group discussion are described, the role and tasks of the moderator are presented, principles of the design of the moderation guide are discussed, potential problems that can arise in the course of a focus group discussion and their solutions as well as suitable evaluation strategies for the focus group interviews are presented. The aim of the workshop is to provide participants with methodological skills that will enable them to conduct and moderate their own focus groups.
