After the first funding period (2015 – 2018) of the competence cluster of nutrition research enable, the second funding period started the 1st of September. The consortium involves seven research partners and numerous industry partners. Speaker of the enable-Cluster is Prof. Dr. Hans Hauner (TU Munich), chair of nutrition medicine; managing director is Dr. Kerstin Dressel, who is also managing director of the SINE-Institute. The mission of the enable-Cluster is the development of new strategies to promote healthier food choices in all stages of life (from birth to old age). The research is interdisciplinary with focus on the interface of food science and nutrition technology with information and communication technology as well as social studies.
