In the enable workshop, patent attorney Dr. Markus Engelhard explained what food start-ups should consider in terms of patent law. In his presentation, he used many practical examples to explain the differences between a patent and an inventive step. His remarks were complemented by a showcase of the start-up Sunbloom, presented by its founder Thomas Stuchly and commented by Prof. Peter Eisner of the Fraunhofer Institute IVV. The introduction to enable, competence cluster of nutrition research as well as the moderation of the event was in the hands of Dr. Kerstin Dressel, enable managing director.
