Dr. Kerstin Dressel has organised within the EU-funded project EDENext (www.edenext.eu) a workshop at the international One Health summit. The goal of the workshop was to demonstrate the advantages and synergies of a joint approach between modellers, Public Health practitioners and social scientists. The title of the workshop was: “Improving Public Health Risk Governance by Intergrating Modelling With Concern Assessment”. Three oral presentations were given by EDENext partners all focused on the human hanta virus infection in Germany. The presentations were followed by a panel discussion. Panelists included: Dr. Stephane de la Rocque representing the International Animal Disease Organisation (OIE), Dr. Herve Zeller representing the European Centre for Disease Control (ECDC) and Dr. Renaud Lancelot, coordinator of EDENext.
Almost 400 participants from 70 countries attended the conference which was held 17th November till 20th November in Davos, Switzerland.
