At the international conference of emerging infectious diseases and surveillance (IMED 2014), held in Vienna, Dr. Kerstin Dressel has presented findings how to inform the public living in endemic areas of diseases like the hantavirus or Crimean-Congo-Hemorrhagic Fever (CCHF) and how risk maps can be successfully used as part of an overall health communication strategy. Her presentation was based on findings of the EU-funded EDENExt project (www.edenext.eu) where sine has conducted a risk perception study in Finland, Macedonia, Turkey, Germany and France.
