As part of the lecture series of the enable cluster of nutrition research, a virtual lecture series on the topic “What does the nutrition of the future look like?” took place on December 10. More than 100 listeners* attended an online event of the enable cluster on December 10, 2020, featuring a series of guest lectures from the Freising-based Fraunhofer Institute IVV. Dr. Raffael Osen’s presentation focused on plant-based meat alternatives, followed by a pitch from Anna Martin, who reported from the EIT FOOD project ‘PERFECT’ on the development of sugar-reduced breakfast cereals and muesli bars. The virtual lab tour, led by Christian Zacherl, who presented the different areas of the institute, was met with the greatest interest. The inspiring lecture by Prof. Peter Eisner, in turn, addressed the question of what the future of nutrition will look like, and in the process got many of the event’s participants thinking about their own nutritional behavior and lifestyle. The event was introduced and moderated by Dr. Kerstin Dressel, enable managing director.
